"Sharif"

It was the hardest decision of my life to desex this absolutely gorgeous boy. After what happened to my Princess Lily, I could not bare to go through anything like that again so made the tough decision that it was time Sharif was to become someones LOVED pet. Sharif and myself found him a wonderful home with John and Mary who do not live that far from me, so I can make visits to see him. Sharif has settled well and is totally spoilt in his new home as the ONLY pet and he is very much adored. I sure do miss him , but he left me some wonderful ofspring to go on with and I am very proud of them. Hope you have a wonderful life my most SPECIAL boy, I will LOVE you forever. Thanks again John and Mary for taking such good care of the handsome lad.

APELIA'S NORDIC ANGEL (NORWEGIAN IMPORT)
"Angel"

Sometimes as breeders we have to make some tough decisions and I just had to make one of those (the hardest one I have had to do as a breeder so far).  Angel has been a MAJOR asset to my breeding program and one cat I simply adore in everyway. She is such a quirky little girl and loves being a clown. Angel has been an unbelieveable mother and gave birth so easily as well. She made my job as her carer very easy. The time had come for me to decide Angel's future after she had raised her 6th litter.  A real tough call but it was now my turn to repay her for all she gave me so Angel was desexed and she now shares a very spoilt life as the ONLY pet of Angie Sutalo.  I miss her so and she did miss me for a short while but Angie now tells me she is very settled and enjoying her retirement (I had to do what was in her best interest).

Angel (My little Angey Pangey) what a breeding cat you were, a very dignified and wonderful mother to ALL your babies that you reared so wonderfully.  I love you so much and can't begin to thank you for all you did for us here at Shakandah.  I take GREAT pride in knowing we were a GREAT team together and you were one awesome cat to own and one of the BEST cats any Birman Breeder would be very proud to own.  Thank you my SPECIAL girl.  I LOVE you so much.  Enjoy your new life with Angie (one you deserve).  Love your cat carer Mummy.

Paris Paris

Paris has been retired from Shakandah Birmans after leaving us with a beautiful son to continue on with.  It was decided to desex Paris as she had to have a ceasarian and it was almost certain she would have to have another should I wish to breed with her again. I could not do that to her, so Paris has gone to live a VERY spoilt life as the only pet cat of Mihkaail of Canberra.  Enjoy your new life my little treasure!!

Bronte is a lovely chocolate tabby boy I bred.  He is from Thunda and Angel. Bronte shares his much loved life with Christa Collins of Fort Wayne, Indiana in the USA where he is a stud and show cat. HMMM, lucky boy "what a life".  Thanks Christa for taking such good care of him.

Just recently I went to the USA and had a wonderful stay with my dear friend Hilde Van der Westhuizen, her lovely husband Hilton and their gorgeous son Peter-Wayne.  Wow what a time I had and I was spoilt rotten.

While I was there I had the privilege to attend the NBF Big Birman Show, held in New Jersey, that ran for two days.  My GORGEOUS boy, Bronte was shown by his mummy and also my dear friend Christa Collins. Wow, Bronte sure did do Christa and myself so very PROUD.  His results as follows:

  • Bronte was the HIGHEST scoring Birman in the North Atlantic Region (NAR) at the National Birman Fanciers Show in Carney's Point, New Jersey on October 15th and 16th . Bronte was also HIGHEST scoring Lynx (tabby) point in show.
  • Best of Breed in 5 out of 6 rings.
  • Made 5 out of 6 CHAMPIONSHIP Finals for BEST in SHOW.
  • BEST CAT IN SHOW in 2 Finals and also placed a 2nd and 4th BEST CAT IN SHOW.

Way to go Bronte, I am ONE VERY PROUD BREEDER.

Christa, thanks to you and Scott for presenting Bronte so beautifully and bringing him so far from home just to see me and of course do us proud.  I am forever grateful.

One of our precious Shakandah babies has gone to Tamworth in NSW to share her life with a very special little girl called Chaianne. Chaianne has been a very sick little girl and has been so brave that her loving devoted mother gave her the precious gift of a little Shakandah furry bundle. Baby Hope is enjoying a very spoilt life with Chaianne and I have been told the two of them are very close. What more could I wish for. We are just so happy here at Shakandah that Hope has brought so much joy to Chaianne. The special baby has been christened Shakandah Chaianne's "Hope"

Here is a picture of the two of them together, it is obvious they were meant for each other.

Chaianne and Tez, I would like to thank you both for giving Hope a very special home and caring for her so well.

Chaianne, we send you all our love and best wishes and know that Hope will keep you strong and focused.  God Bless you and you will always be in our thoughts.

Keep those happy pics coming, WE Love Them xxxx

Shakandah Red Hot Rebel
Red Tabby Point

Due to a slight change in my plans I have decided to de-sex this GORGEOUS, adorable boy and let him go live a spoilt life as a loved pet.  I just love him to peices and know this is the best thing for him.

Rebel has gone to live with my dear friend Pam Coyte's sister. Her name is Trish Lamey and they reside in Sydney.

My heart is heavy but Rebel will have a wonderful life and Trish will show him in NSW as a neuter, I know he will do me very proud!  MY SPECIAL BOY!!

Shakandah Shah Shakeem (son of CCCA GD Ch and Gold Gd Ch / Ch Shakandah Shah Sharif (HONS) and Db Gd Ch Mitkyina Burnt Magnolia) has become a CHAMPION in his new Country and home of Holland.  Shakeem is PROUDLY owned by Wil and Jaap Ouwehand who love him very much.  Thanks to them both for taking such special care of my boy and sending me this beautiful photo I am so proud to share.

Well Done Shakeem, I am very proud of you. I knew you would follow in your daddy's footsteps!

Shakandah Blu Romeo (pictured below) who is residing in Belgium with Marc and Mieke Thys to fullfill stud duties, has been doing wonderfully at his shows over there.  His most recent achievement was Best of Color and then he went on to win a Best In Show.  Romeo is continuing to do me proud!

Rio Rio

Rio and his sister Angel came to me from my dear friend Christina Hayton in Norway. These two special import babies have been a blessing, helping greatly to expand our breeding program with their fresh gene pool. I have quite a bit to go on with now from this precious boy who gave me so much. Rio left me top quality kittens that will be shown this year and I am sure they will do myself and Rio's breeder Christina Hayton very very proud.  Thanks Christina and Bjornar for allowing Rio to come share his life here with us in Australia. I am forever grateful.

Rio hated living a stud life as he screamed all day. So with a heavy heart I decided to make this boy happy, he was neutered and has now gone to live with Leeanne who just adores him (thanks Leeanne).  Rio can now rest up and live the luxury life on Leeanne's bed.

Thankyou Rio from the bottom of my for what you have left me. You were and still are a wonderful cat and we will be grateful and love you forever.

There comes a time we all need to make decisions for all sorts of different reasons. One of those, and the hardest I have ever had to make, was to desex my BEAUTIFUL Thunda !  Thunda is now sharing his life with David Hardwick of Western Australia. Thunda is truly one of the most BEAUTIFUL cats I have ever known, in all ways, and I thank David from the bottom of my heart for taking him in and spoiling him rotten. We have constant contact and David has told me, " He has NEVER known a cat with such beauty and a temperament to die for".

Thunda my man, I will love you for ever and thank you for all the GORGEOUS babies and grand babies you have given me. Enjoy your special life with David, it was my BEST decision !!
