After my beautiful 16yr old moggie "Daniela" passed on due to cancer, l could never have imagined that l would be buying a pedigree feline. I didn’t know much about Birmans except that they were a gorgeous looking cat. A few friends have the breed so thought l would do some research before l committed to another pet. I must have accessed every Birman website, locally and abroad finding out all l could about the breed. Somehow l found myself always going back to "Shakandah Birmans". Not only was Anne's website aesthetically eye catching and the quality photography of her Birmans just stunning, but here was a woman who knew her craft, the Birman cat and the care they require.

After making my decision that a Birman would fit into my lifestyle, l decided that the only thing left for me to do was to meet the breeder, see how she raises her kittens, the set up she operates but most importantly l wanted to meet the beautiful woman that touched my heart when l read her memorial page dedicated to the "Irreplaceable Lily".

Anne and l met many months ago and now she has become one of my dear friends. The cattery she has founded is not only operational to exquisite standards but the love and care she has for all her babies, queens, studs and retiree's is certainly something that made my decision to purchase from her cattery the best choice l could have ever made.

For those of you who have not had the privilege of meeting Anne and experiencing her cattery, l cant tell you how impressed l was with the shelter she provides, the size of the pens which allows all her Briman’s to move freely and the advantage of natural light each and everyone of her cats enjoy.

Anne also has 2 gorgeous pets "Jack" her puppy and "Charlie" the "human" cat. Once Anne's kittens are old enough, she lets them interact with both Jack and Charlie (fantastic if you have a dog at home) and each kitten is toilet trained before they leave her side. All the Shakandah Birman’s are fed a great buffet of dishes: some commercial and some from the exclusive kitchen, by chef, the one and only “Anne”. I’ve seen it in operation! Amazing what this lady does for her breed!

I will take my baby Birman home in a few days and can only hope that she is as happy in my home as she is in Anne's.
Anne, a big thank you for answering all my questions and some silly ones at that. Thank you for caring for my beautiful Karla who will come home to live her life with me in 3 days time and thank you for being my friend. I have a tremendous amount of respect for your work, l adore all your cats and l adore you.

Congratulations on building such a great, clean and vibrant environment for all your Birman Felines. Yes, l made the right decision now l’m just counting the days .... l can’t wait! See you soon, Your friend Rosalie P from Mulgrave, Victoria Australia
