Welcome to the home of the beautiful Shakandah Birmans , where we take great pride in producing top quality little angels with superb temperaments and wonderful birman type. My name is Anne Davis and I live in the leafy Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. I share my home with my Hubby of 28 years Glenn.
We have 4 children (pictured below) and 2 GORGEOUS granddaughters. Ben (son number 1), he is 26 and has recently bought his own home. Jonathan son number 2 , he is 23 and sill lives at home. Luke son number 3 , he is 17 and also still lives at home. Our precious daughter Rebecca, aged 27, shares her life with her Husband Grant and their two beautiful baby girls, Emma and Charli (read more about them further down the page). They live a stones throw away.
We also have a gorgeous little house dog Jack and 2 BEAUTIFUL Chinchilla crosses named Charlie and Billy (see below), in addition to our beautiful Birman family. I am a registered breeder with The Governing Council Of The Cat Fancy and also an active member of our hobby club, the Birman Society of Victoria. To date I have produced many show winners here in Australia and Overseas, especially in Europe. I take my job as a breeder very responsibly and seriously. I do not cut corners or scrimp on costs - only the best for my Birman Angels here at Shakandah. To be owned by a Birman is one of life's blessings and as the saying goes " Two birmans are better than one ". They are loving and affectionate with very outgoing natures. Stylish in everyway , you get what you see with a Birman. A cat with striking appearance and endearing blue eyes, you can't help but fall in love. Birmans are very dog-like in nature and are always happy to either sit on your lap or help with the household chores.
Our precious Grand Daughters are growing up way too fast. Emma is now 3 years old (pictured above) and she is just so much fun. The things she comes out with really make us laugh. She calls me at least three times a day asking me to come see her or collect her to come play with the kitties and Jack our little dog. Emma is an absolute delight, a very clued on little girl and we so enjoy having her around. So glad she barely lives a 5 minute walk away. Charli is now 2 years (pictured below) and gorgeous as ever. A very easy going little cherub who is a delight to have around. A real little Angel. The girls have started dance classes and are just loving it and I am enjoying this special little pleasure in their lives. They LOVE it! The girls love the kitties . They have learnt to be very gentle with them and they actually love the girls too. Emma loves nothing more than to help Nanny clean the cats and Charli is now starting to join in. Glenn and myself could not imagine our lives without the girls and it's just priceless to see their little faces when they see us coming. Emma has even worked out my car. She will spot it in a major shopping centre and know I am there. Hehehehe. I will post regular updates on the girls as they continue to grow more beautiful by the day and enrich our lives. We are one VERY proud Nanny and Pop!!

Brown/Black Tipped Tabby Domestic (1/2 Chinchilla) Meet the special man of the house, our very precious Charlie. Charlie came to us by chance at just 7 weeks of age and has been a huge part of our family ever since. Very human-like in his ways, Charlie knows how to get things his own way, when he wants and how he wants. He gets on great with all the other cats (and Billy) and just adores having baby Birmans to play with for part of the year. We simply could not imagine our life without this beautiful boy. We have never owned a cat quite like him.

Brown Tabby and White Bi-Colour Domestic (Chinchilla X) Meet Billy who is just ADORABLE, we love this little fella so much. He is very dog like in nature, loves to eat ice and all sorts of other strange things cats don't usually like. He is also best buddies with our little dog Jack. Billy loves to sleep with us at night and he is just so LOVING. A gorgeous boy in every way. I am showing Billy in the domestic class at shows, he has been in 2 shows only and in both won Supreme, LOL!! He is my baby, a real mummy's boy - hehe much to my delight.

Meet Jack our gorgeous little house dog. Jack has lived with us since he was an eight week old pup. He is almost One now and has been the best little dog ever. He is like a human, does everything with us (LOL, in reason of course). We think he is a little confused on whether he is actually or dog or a cat as he does a lot of cat behavior. The cats and kittens adore him and he makes them totally bomb proof. Jack is so delightful to have around, we could now not imagine our life without him. He loves our granddaughters too and they sure adore him. A delightful little fellow who just loves everything and everyone. He is a major part of our family.
